Saudi Arabia and Ukraine Foreign Ministers Discuss Development In Kyiv

Saudi Arabia and Ukraine’s top diplomats discussed the recent development in Kyiv and stressed the need for de-escalation and international efforts to resolve the conflict politically.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on Wednesday at the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, where both sides discussed issues related to the Ukraine crisis.

During the meeting, Prince Faisal reaffirmed the Kingdom’s strong support for any efforts that lead to a solution to the conflict. “We support every kind of international effort to help resolve the Ukrainian crisis through political means in a bid to protect the life of civilians,” Faisal said.

The Saudi Kingdom had earlier said that they are ready to mediate between Russia and Ukraine as part of efforts to resolve the conflict.

A month ago, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman held separate phone calls with Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky and urged them to end the war through dialogues.
