Ukraine Receives 45 Fire Trucks from Italy

Ukraine received 45 fire trucks from the Italian government on Monday.

According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the fire trucks will be deployed across the garrisons of Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.

“Thank you EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid Dipartimento Protezione Civil Fire and Rescue Brigade Ministry of the Interior SR. We hope for further cooperation – not only during the war but also in the peaceful time, which will surely come soon!” said Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Mary Akopyan.

The MIA also elaborated that once the fire trucks have been deployed, they will aid in the restoration of Ukrainian rescuers’ equipment that has been damaged as a result of the ongoing Russian invasion.

The fire trucks were donated by the Italian National Fire and Rescue Service headquarters and left Cervignano del Friuli in Italy for Veká Ida, Slovakia on March 2.

According to the Italian Civil Protection Department, the donation was made as part of the European Civil Protection Mechanism.
