Russian Ambassador to Poland Splashed with Red Paint

Russian Ambassador to Poland Sergey Andreev has been splashed with red paint in the face by protesters during a visit at a Warsaw cemetery to Red Army soldiers who died during World War II.

A video of Andreev being splashed in front of the Soviet Soldiers Cemetery during a flower laying ceremony to mark Victory Day was shared on Twitter.

“On May 9, extremists, with complete inaction of the police, disrupted the wreath-laying ceremony at the cemetery of Soviet soldiers in Warsaw, using violence against the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Poland, Sergei Andreev, and other members of the diplomatic mission,” confirmed the Russian diplomatic mission.

The Russian Foreign Ministry accused the Polish government of harboring Neo-Nazis and demanded that Warsaw immediately organize another wreath-laying ceremony with safety in mind.
