Uzbekistan Border Guards Kill Three Kyrgyz Citizens

Uzbekistan’s border guards have shot dead three Kyrgyz citizens near the border areas between the two countries under circumstances that remain unclear.

Kyrgyzstan Border Service of the State Committee for National Security said Friday that the shooting occurred in the area of Dobo-Korgon in Ala-Buka district in Jalal-Abad region on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border.

Kyrgyz officials said the three citizens were immediately taken to the provincial hospital with gunshot wounds, where doctors declared them dead.

The killed individuals identified as A.K. born in 1974, A.J. born in 1998, and A.J. in 2000.

The border officials of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan held a meeting immediately after the incident, and both sides agreed to investigate the incident separately and share the result in the next meeting.

Shootings along the border between the two neighboring countries Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are common, in which the citizens of the nearby villagers are often the victims.
