UAE Court Sentences Pakistani National to Death For Murdering Indian Couple

The Dubai Criminal Court on Friday sentenced a Pakistani national to death on charges of murdering an Indian couple and attempted murder of their daughter to steal their Dhs 2,000.

Dubai police said the Pakistani worker, whose name was not disclosed, stabbed to death the Indian businessman Hiren Adhiya and his wife Vidhi Adhiya,both were in their 40s at their home in the Arabian Ranches area in Dubai.

The incident happened in June 2020 after the daughter of the victims filed a complaint, saying her parents had been killed in their residence.

Dubai police said they have arrested the Pakistani national within 24 hours after the complaint.

“I was stabbed in my neck and the murderer wanted to kill me too, but I resisted and fled the home” Gulf Today news agency quoted the daughter, without mentioning her name. 

“I heard a distress call coming from my parent’s room and when I rushed to them I saw the Pakistani man was standing there and my parents were lying on the floor and stained with blood,” the daughter added.

The suspect confessed to his crime and said he went to the home with a plan to rob money and he found Dhs 2,000, according to the police.

Police said he stabbed the victim and his wife several times after the couple woke up and caught him red-handed while stealing.
