Explosions Reported in State Security Ministry building in Tiraspol, Transnistria

Explosions were reported in the State Security Ministry building in Tiraspol, Transnistria, the breakaway region of Moldova amid the ongoing Invasion of its neighbor Ukraine.

Transnistrian TV station TSV posted said that several blasts were heard near the building and posted photos of broken windows and what appeared to be an m-72 LAW on the ground purportedly near the blast site.

“A series of explosions occurred in the building of the Ministry of State Security in Tiraspol. <…> Firefighters are working on the spot. Several ambulances and a gas service are nearby,” said TSV.

Transnistrian Deputy of the Supreme Council Andrey Safonov said that grenade launchers were used to attack the building but did not name any suspects.

“The shelling of the MGB building from a grenade launcher is an attempt to sow panic and fear in Pridnestrovie. Attempts to put pressure on us have been observed before,” said Safonov.

No one was reported hurt or killed during the explosion.
