Amnesty International Says Monitoring Israel’s Unlawful Killings, Arbitrary Arrests of Palestinians

Amnesty International said Wednesday that unlawful killings, arbitrary arrests, torture, and collective punishment “are a lived reality” of Israeli apartheid for Palestinians.

“Apartheid is not just a relic of the past, it is the lived reality for Palestinians across Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, it is happening to this day,” Amnesty International said in a tweet.

“We, at Amnesty, are monitoring reports of unlawful killings, arbitrary arrests, and collective punishment,” it said, referring to the latest Israeli actions against Palestinians.

The report came after 150 Palestinians have reportedly been injured recently in clashes between Israeli police and Palestinians at Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa mosque compound.

Violence broke out shortly after morning prayers, with Israel saying dozens of masked men carrying Palestinian and Hamas flags had marched to the compound.

World leaders, including the US, called for an end to the violence in Israel and Palestine, emphasizing that violence needs to stop immediately.
