Taiwan Distributes War Survival Manuals

Taiwan’s military released a defense handbook with information on possible military crises and disasters to teach Taiwanese various emergency responses.

The Ministry of National Defense has compiled the National Defense Manual, which contains wartime scenarios and responses.

Liu Taiyi, director of the Material Mobilization Department of the National Defense Mobilization Department, said that the manual will provide public awareness on safety and self-help, power outrage, medical emergency, and disaster prevention, including war preparedness.

The manual also explains the role of various sectors of the government to provide the public with a clear concept of relevant crisis response.

QR codes have been included in the manual, allowing the access to live illustrations. Audio and video supplements have also been published on the website of the Ministry of National Defense.

The defense ministry has published the material despite China’s intentions toward Taiwan.
