Former President Trump Endorses Celebrity Doctor Mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania Senate Race

Former U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday announced that he is endorsing celebrity surgeon Dr. Mehmet Oz for a Senate seat in Pennsylvania.

“The Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has a tremendous opportunity to Save America by electing the brilliant and well-known Dr. Mehmet Oz for the United States Senate,” a statement from Trump read.

Several candidates for the Senate race in Pennsylvania, which could determine control of the Senate, are vying to replace the retiring Republican Senator Pat Toomey.

In the statement, Trump praised the television doctor as “Pro-Life, very strong on Crime, the Border, Election Fraud, our Great Military, and our Vets, Tax Cuts, and will always fight for and support our under-siege Second Amendment.”

Oz responded to the announcement on Sunday, thanking Trump for the endorsement.

“President Trump carefully reviewed all of the candidates for U.S. Senate. Everyone, especially David McCormick – a pro-China, Wall Street insider, wanted this endorsement. But President Trump wisely endorsed me because I’m a Conservative who will stand up to Joe Biden and the woke Left,” Oz said.

Trump had met with David McCormick, another candidate for the Senate seat, on Wednesday. Oz met with Trump on March 16.
