Iran, and Russia Eager To Boost Trade Ties

A 70-member Iranian delegation participated in the Iran-Russia Trade Conference in Moscow on Thursday, and discussed ways and avenues to further accelerate trade ties and cooperation between the two countries.

Representatives of Iranian and 300 Russian companies in nine different sectors, including industry, technology, petrochemicals, medicine, food industry, etc., attended the conference which was kicked off at the venue of Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Speaking in the conference, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazzem Jalali said that Iran and Russia were interested in boosting trade ties in order to overcome economic challenges.

Jalali also said Tehran and Moscow had decided to increase their banking and financial cooperation to further expand ties and confront sanctions.

“As regards banking and financial cooperation, officials from the banking sphere of two countries are in constant contact with each other. A personal meeting of officials of the two countries is planned in the near future to solve possible problems,” Jalali said.
