Kuwait Receives Two More Eurofighter Typhoon Jets

Kuwait Air Forces (KAF) received the third and fourth of Eurofigther Typhoon swing-role fighter jets in line with a previously signed contract with Leondarao, an Italian multinational company specializing in defense and security.

Leonardo had delivered the first two Eurofighter three months ago as Kuwait ordered a total of 28 Eurofighter Typhoons aimed at boosting its military capabilities.

During the latest delivery, the Italian Air Force supported the ferry flight of the two Kuwaiti Eurofighters.

“I was very proud last month seeing Eurofighters fly over Kuwait City during the National Day celebration, such as today increasing as planned the fleet,” Leonardo Eurofighter Program Vice-President Guido Sibona said.

According to Sibona, the Eurofighter Typhoons that have been developed and produced for the Kuwait Air Force are “the most advanced” in the whole European program.

Leonardo furthered that the two Eurofighter Typhoons were also equipped with new active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar to boost the performance and competitiveness of the aircraft.

Leonardo said that the Italian Air Force would provide an operational assistance program for Kuwait’s pilots to sufficiently use the Eurofighter Typhoons.
