Israeli Forces Kill Three Palestinians in West Bank as Violence Escalates

Israeli forces have killed two Palestinians in a raid in a refugee camp in the northern West Bank city of Jenin, Palestinian health ministry said on Thursday. A third Palestinians was shot dead after trying to stab an Israeli passenger on a bus.  

Minor Sanad Abu Attiyeh, 17, and Yazeed al-Saadi, 23, were shot dead during the raid, the ministry said, adding another 15 Palestinians were wounded by live ammunition during the army raid.

In a separate incident, Israeli military said they have shot dead a Palestinian man who stabbed a 28-year-old Israeli man on a bus in the West Bank. The victim was evacuated to the Magen David Adom emergency service for medical treatment.

According to Palestinian Health Ministry, Nidal Jaafara, 30, was shot and killed near the West Bank town of Bethlehem, apparently referring to the stabbing incident.

The army also raided the home of a Palestinian man Diaa Hamarsheh, 27, who on Tuesday night went on shooting spree in Bnei Brak east of Tel Aviv, killing five people.

Hamarsheh was a laborer who lived in Ya’bad outside Jenin city, and was shot dead in an armed confrontation with Israeli forces.

The raid on West Bank came aimed heightened tensions as at least 11 Israeli, including two police officers were killed in three terrorist incidents just in one week.  

All the three Palestinian assailants were shot dead at the scene.
