Russian Ammo Depot Near Ukraine Border Blown Up

A Russian ammunition depot in Belgorod 12 kilometers near the border of Ukraine exploded due to unknown causes.

A video posted online showed a huge explosion on Tuesday near the village of Oktyabrsky. Vyacheslav Gladkov, governor of Belgorod confirmed the incident but did not specify details on the explosion.

Russian media reported that human factor caused the explosion. An unnamed source told RIA Novosti that the incident injured four law enforcement officers.

According to Tass, a Russian news agency, “Initial data indicates that the projectile was launched from the Ukrainian territory.”

The explosion occurred hours after Russia and Ukraine’s peace negotiation in Turkey.

Russia expressed earlier that it will cut back operations in Ukraine to establish trust amid the conflict between the two nations.
