EU Envoy To Visit Iran on Saturday to Discuss Nuclear Talks

The European Union coordinator for Iran nuclear talks, Enrique Mora said to visit Tehran tomorrow (Saturday) to discuss unresolved issues with Iran’s chief negotiator Bagheri Kani.

“Traveling to Tehran to meet Bagheri Kani. Working on closing the remaining gaps in the Vienna talks on the JCPOA. We must conclude this negotiation. Much is at stake,” Mora said in a tweet.

Meanwhile, US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan on Friday said that the US is still pursuing talks on Iran’s nuclear program but will work with allies to increase pressure on Iran if diplomacy fails.

According to Sullivan, substantial progress has been made in resolving a number of issues but still there are some issues left. “We are still seeking a diplomatic outcome here that puts Iran’s nuclear program back in a box. Of course, if diplomacy doesn’t succeed, then we will work very closely with our international partners to increase the pressure on Iran.”

Iran Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said on Thursday that issues over removal of sanctions yet to be addressed, but, however, he added that Iran and world powers are closer to an agreement in Vienna than ever before.
