Russia Denies News of Defense Minister’s Poor Health

The Kremlin has denied rumors that its Defense Minister is in poor health because he has not made recent public appearances.

Russian investigative journalists from Mediazona and Agentstvo have alleged yesterday that Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu has not appeared in public since March 11 and has not made any public appearances since then.

“The Minister of Defense now has a lot of worries, as you understand. A special military operation is underway. Of course, now is not quite the time for media activity. This is quite understandable,” said Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

Russian state media outlet RIA Novosti also released a video purportedly showing Shoigu video conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Shoigu however has not yet made a personal statement on his actual condition while there is no current actual footage of him.
