Russian Forces Shell Children’s Hospital in Luhansk Region, Ukraine Says

Russian troops opened fire on a children’s hospital in the Luhansk region, forcing 22 people to evacuate, Ukrainian officials said on March 22.

The roof of the hospital in Severodonetsk caught fire after the shelling.

State Emergency Service (SES) of Ukraine reported that they evacuated seven children and 15 adults, including eight doctors, from the hospital.

Several multi-story and residential buildings, houses, garages, educational institutions, and infrastructure facilities in the region have caught fire in the last 24 hours as a result of Russian shelling, according to SES.

“The Luhansk Oblast State Emergency Service does not have enough rescuers to respond to all the call-outs to fires or destruction caused by shelling. But despite fatigue and enemy shelling, emergency responders continue to carry out their assigned tasks,” SES said.
