Three Injured in Miami Beach Spring Break Shooting

A shooting in Miami Beach injured three people on March 20 amid a crowded Spring Break weekend.

Miami Beach police said that officers responded to a shooting on Ocean Drive near 8th Street shortly after midnight and found two people shot.

Miami Beach Fire Rescue transported the two victims to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Police later received a call from Mount Sinai Hospital about a man with a gunshot wound, believed to be the third victim of the shooting, according to Miami Beach Police Department spokesperson Ernesto Rodriguez.

All three victims had non-life-threatening injuries.

A video showed a crowd of people running away after shots were fired.

Rodriguez said that the circumstances that led to the shooting are under investigation.

“Detectives are speaking with several individuals to determine what transpired in the moments leading up to the shooting,” Rodriguez said.
