Russian Forces Reportedly Abduct 4 Ukrainian Journalists in Melitopol

The National Union of Journalists of Ukraine alleges that 4 journalists have been abducted by Russian forces from their homes in Melitopol.

“Today, armed men came to the home of MV Holding journalists – publisher Mykhailo Kumko , graduation editor Yevhenia Boryan , journalists Yulia Olkhovska and Lyubov Chaika – and took them in an unknown direction. Kateryna Danylina-Levochko, a Zaporizhzhya journalist and correspondent of the Industrial Zaporizhzhya publication, informs about the abduction. Tetyana Kumok, Mykhailo Kumko’s daughter, also wrote about her father’s abduction on social media,” said the union. 

Tetiana Kumok, Mykhailo Kumok’s daughter also confirmed the abduction and provided details. 

“Mykhailo Kumok, before retirement, he was part of the leaders of the Ministry of Interior – Holding snd the Ministry of Internal Affairs is a city newspaper, a website, and, most importantly, a typography With the boost of hostile propaganda, which was actively planted by the occupiers since they arrived in the city, journalists and employees were expected to be pressured,” said Tetiana. 

There is no information yet on the condition of the abducted journalists.
