UAE leaders, Mohammed Bin Rashid and Mohamed Bin Zayed separately met with Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad on Friday and discussed various issues of mutual interests, and wished peace and security prevails in Syria.
Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE, Mohamed Bin Zayed welcomed Al-Assad at Qasr Al-Shati’ Palace and expressed his wishes that this visit will pave the way for goodness, peace and stability to prevail in Syria and the entire region.
During the talks, the two sides reviewed the fraternal relations between the two nations, and the prospects of fostering cooperation to achieve security, stability and peace in the Arab region and the Middle East.
They also discussed a number of issues of interest, and emphasized on preserving the territorial integrity of Syria and the withdrawal of foreign forces from the country.
Bin Zayed told Al-Assad that Syria is a fundamental pillar of Arab security, and that the UAE is keen to strengthen cooperation with it to achieve the aspirations of the “brotherly Syrian people towards stability and development.”
Meanwhile, Mohammed Bin Rashid, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, met with President Bashar Al Assad, and assured UAE’s support to Syria in different areas.
“The UAE is keen to discover new paths of constructive cooperation with Syria, and to monitor opportunities through which various aspects of cooperation can be pushed forward to achieve the interests of the two brotherly peoples,” a statement from the Government of Dubai Media Office read.
