Iran’s Army Says Won’t Hesitate Striking more Israeli Bases in Iraq

Iran’s Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Friday said they would not hesitate to carry out more attacks against Israeli bases in the Kurdistan region as its right to get rid of any threat emanating from Iraq.

IRGC’s Spokesman Brigadier General Ramezan Sharif said that it’s Iran’s “natural right” to destroy any base from which any attack to be conducted against Iran. “It is our red line, we can’t undermine our security, we need to take action,” Sharif said, calling on the Iraqi officials to dismantle Israeli bases if they don’t want Iran to attack them again.

On Sunday, Iran claimed the firing of a dozen of ballistic missiles against Israeli base “Masoud” based on the Masif-Saladin Street in Erbil, Iraq’s capital city of Kurdistan region. However, Iraqi officials rejected the presence of any Israeli base in its soil, and said the rockets hit civilian populated areas that wounded two people.

However, IRGC claimed that several Israeli operatives were killed and wounded in the attack.

“Our ambassador to Iraq, Iraj Masjedi had told Iraqi officials about Masoud base,” Sharif said, adding ambassador Masjedi warned Iraqi officials on several occasions of action if they remained silent on the matter.

According to Sharif there are two other Masoud—like bases inside Iraq which are active and operated by Israeli government.

“If Iraqi officials do not take action to remove other bases of Zionists in this country while our security continues to be threatened from this region, we will respond without hesitation,” Sharif warned.

Sharfi said that Israel admitted that their drones, which flew over a “military” base in Iran’s Kermanshah province, had taken off from their bases in Erbil capital city of the Iraqi Kurdistan region.
