Israeli Troops Kill Two Palestinians In Separate Shootings in West Bank

The Palestinian Health Ministry says Israeli forces killed two Palestinians and wounded several others in separate shootings in the occupied West Bank.

A 16-year-old Nader Rayan was shot and killed, and three other Palestinians were wounded after Israeli forces raided the Balata refugee camp in Nablus, a city in the northern West Bank, the ministry said in a statement.

Alaa Shiham, another Palestinian who was 20-years-old killed in Qalandia refugee camp, just outside of Jerusalem. “Other six people received injuries in the raid and were brought to the hospital,” the ministry added.  

A spokesman for Israel’s border police confirmed a Palestinian “terrorist” had been killed. “We entered Balata to arrest a suspect who had an M-16 assault rifle in his possession, but a terrorist fired at our troops who we responded and killed him,” the spokesman said.

According to the spokesman, they also arrested two wanted men in Qalandia before coming under attack by residents. “We opened fire to disperse the demonstrators. There were no reports of any injuries among the Israelis,” the spokesman added.

According to Palestinian health officials with the two new casualties, Israel forces have killed 20 people this year so far.
