Third Russian Major General Killed in Ukraine War

Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko claimed that they have killed Major General Andrei Kolesnikov, the third Russian general killed since the invasion of Ukraine began.

“The good news is that Major General Andrei Kolesnikov, Commander of the 29th Army of the Eastern Military District, became the KIA today,” said Gerashchenko.

There are no details yet on how and where Kolesnikov was killed while the Russian armed forces have not yet released a statement.

Kolesnikov has been appointed the new Chief of Staff of the Guards Tank Army of the Western Military District (ZVO) last June 23, 2020.

Kolesnikov also served as the commander of the Kantemirovskaya Tank Division from 2015 to 2018 which was also one of the tank units that participated in the invasion of Ukraine.
