Egypt Reports 1,093 New COVID-19 Cases, 25 Deaths In Past 24 Hours

Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population said they have reported 1,093 new COVID-19 cases, and 25 related deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the tally to 490,969 across the country.

The ministry in a statement said that with 25 more fatalities, the total death tally reached 24,197 across the country since the outbreak of the virus started in 2020.

According to the statement, another 1,321 patients have recovered from the virus and been discharged from hospitals during the span of time. “In total, 421,215 patients have so far been recovered nationwide,” it added.

Over 30 million Egyptians have also been vaccinated fully against COVID-19 disease so far, according to the ministry, which said almost 40 million citizens also received their first dose. Over a million citizens have also received their booster shots.

Head of the Scientific Committee to Combat Coronavirus at Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population Hossam Hosni had earlier said that the number of infections and deaths is declining significantly.

But Hosni called on the citizens to take all protective measures during the coming weeks to avoid any possibility of increase in the new infections. Hosni stressed over preventative measures and called on the citizens not to ignore the effect of vaccines.
