Russian General Reportedly Killed During Invasion of Ukraine

Ukrainian news outlets claimed that Russian Spetsnaz commander Major General Andrey Sukhovetsky has been killed while commanding forces during the invasion of Ukraine.

Sergei Chipilev, a deputy of the Russian veteran’s group, Combat Brotherhood confirmed Sukhovetsky had indeed died on his social media profile.

“It is with great sorrow that we learned of the tragic news about the death of our friend, Major General Andrei Aleksandrovich Sukhovetsky, on the territory of Ukraine during a special operation,” said Chipilev.

It is not yet known how Sukhovetsky died and where exactly while the Russian armed forces have neither confirmed nor denied his death.

Sukhovetsky had previously commanded the 7th Airborne Assault Division in Novorossiysk for three years. and had participated in Russian campaigns in the North Caucasus, Abkhazia, and Syria.
