Russian Military Convoy Outside Kyiv Estimated to be More Than 40 Miles Long

A massive convoy of Russian military vehicles heading to the Ukrainian capital is estimated to be about 40 miles (64 kilometers) long, new satellite images reveal.

The images photographed by satellite imaging firm Maxar Technologies on Feb. 28 show that the convoy stretches from near Ukraine’s Antonov airbase in the south and north of the town of Prybirsk.

Earlier reports estimated the convoy to be about 17 miles (27 kilometers) long.

The convoy is composed of hundreds of armored vehicles, tanks, towed artillery, and logistics support vehicles heading towards Kyiv.

Additional ground deployments and ground attack helicopter units were also seen in southern Belarus at the north of the Ukrainian border, according to Maxar Technologies.
