Belarus has Reportedly Joined Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine

Belarus has reportedly joined the Russian invasion of Ukraine after its President Alexander Lukashenko confirmed that they have fired missiles towards Ukraine while their tank columns have been spotted in Chernihiv.

“Indeed, two or three missiles were launched from the areas around Chernobyl where Russian troops were taking part in the drill,” said Lukashenko.

Lukashenko did not explain why the missiles were fired, but according to Journalist Roman Burko’s report, Kremlin is urging Belarus to join the “military operation.”

Vitaliy Kyrylov, spokesman for the Ukrainian North Territorial Defense Forces claimed that Belarus has already joined Russia’s side.

“Belarus has entered the war. Belarusian troops have entered the Chernihiv region,” said Kyrylov.

Mykhailo-Kotsyubynskyi reported that a 33-strong tank column passed accompanied by electronic warfare vehicles that were reportedly headed towards Slabin or Pakul.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine also reported that 300 Belarusian tanks were already at the border.

“The column has not crossed the border yet and is waiting for the route m. Pinsk – Ivanove – Dragíčyn (about 30 km from the state border of Ukraine),” said the directorate.
