Toyota Production Halted After Cyberattack

Toyota along with its subsidiaries Hino and Daihatsuhas halted production in its plants in Japan due to an alleged cyberattack.

Toyota’s 28 lines at 14 plants were halted after one of their suppliers, Kojima Industries Corp., was hacked and disrupted their supply management system. 

There is no further information yet on the attack while no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. 

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said they are investigating whether it was s related to the mass hacking in Russia. 

“It is difficult to say whether this has anything to do with Russia before making thorough checks,” said Kishida.
