Iran’s Commander of the Air Force, Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi met with his Pakistani counterpart Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar on Monday, where they discussed strengthening of bilateral cooperation.
According to Iranian news agency (IRNA), the meeting was held at Pakistan Air Force headquarter in Islamabad and the officials have expressed their satisfaction over defense cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the latest developments related to bilateral cooperation between Iran and Pakistan, especially in the fields of defense, military, and education.
Welcoming his Iranian counterpart to the country, Pakistani commander Ahmad Babar stressed the need to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad.
“We are determined to further strengthen the current bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries of Pakistan and Iran,” Ahmad Babar said.
The two Asian countries have recently accelerated cooperation in the fields of defense, military, security, including the exchange of delegations from the armed forces of the two countries.
Last year, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Iran’s Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces paid a four-day official visit to Pakistan and also Pakistan Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa had paid two official visits to Iran aimed at bolstering their defense cooperation.
