Russian forces have reportedly started an amphibious assault in Mariupol.
“Indications are right now that they are putting potentially thousands of naval infantry ashore there,” a defense official told ABC News.
Russian T-72B3 and BMP-3 have also been reportedly spotted heading towards Mariupol.
There are no exact figures yet on how many Russian troops have stormed Mariupol while the Ukrainian Armed Forces have not yet disclosed the status of garrisoned forces.
The Amphibious assault came just a day after Russian strikes destroyed radar arrays in Mariupol.
