Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population said they have recorded 1,892 new COVID-19 cases and 32 related deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases since the start of the outbreak to 475,341.
“We are sad over the loss of another 32 patients in the span of time,” the ministry said in a statement, which has put the total tally of deaths to 23,889 nationwide.
The statement added that another 2,140 patients have been recovered and discharged from the hospitals during the same period of hours,.
The number of total recoveries has now reached 406,107 across Egypt.
According to the ministry, over 29.7 million Egyptians have been fully vaccinated against the virus so far and another 39 million citizens have received their first dose. Another one million people have received their third booster shot.
The ministry said it has a plan to vaccinate 70 percent of its eligible population, those who are older than 12 years old, by the second half of 2022.
