Ukraine Separatist-Held City of Donetsk Being Evacuated

The separatist-held Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) has ordered the mass evacuation of its residents as Russia-Ukraine tensions continue to rise.

“From today, February 18, a mass, centralized departure of the population to the Russian Federation has been organized. First of all, women, children, and the elderly are subject to evacuation,” announced DPR leader Denis Pushilin.

Pushlin explained that the evacuees would be given accommodations in Rostov “according to an agreement with the Russian Federation,” and that they will be provided for.

” All conditions have been created at the checkpoints for a quick crossing (borders – IF). The heads of enterprises and institutions need to organize the departure of the families of employees. The headquarters of the territorial defense should be provided with transport for the evacuation of the civilian population,” said Pushlin.

According to Pushlin, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will soon launch an offensive against Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics.

The departure order came a day after the shelling of a kindergarten in the region.

Ukraine has not yet confirmed or denied that they will attack DPR or Luhansk anytime soon.
