UAE Officials In Israeli Knesset Say No Way Back From Abraham Accords

A senior official from the UAE speaking in Israeli Knesset on Tuesday said that there is no way back from the Abraham Accords, this is the first visit of the UAE delegation there since the normalization of ties in 2020.

The three members of the UAE’s Federal National Council led by Dr. Ali Al Nuaimi, Chair of the Council’s Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee, visited Israel on Monday, reiterating commitment to Abraham Accords.

Nuaimi said the “Abraham” is not only a political agreement, but rather it is an issue related to security defense. “We want to be an agent of change for the whole region,” Nuaimi said, expressing UAE’s desires to promote peace, security, and stability.

Meanwhile, Knesset Speaker Mickey Levy said he met with the EUA officials, terming it useful as it would provide understanding between the two states about the regional challenges such as the Iranian arms race, terrorism, and more.

In September 2020, UAE and Israel signed a US-brokered deal to normalize relations, which was followed by several other agreements between the two states, including investment, banking services and tourism.
