‘ABC World News’ Producer Almin Karamehmedovic Promoted

Almin Karamehmedovic, the senior executive producer of ABC World News Tonight with David Muir, has been promoted to senior executive producer, with increased responsibility for news content production across the company’s broadcast and streaming activities.

Karamehmedovic has served as director of World News since 2014, supervising the day-to-day operations of the show, which became the most-watched nightly news program under his leadership. He began his career at ABC News in 1998 as a producer, where he worked with a variety of reporters and programs before joining the evening show.

According to ABC News president Kim Godwin’s message to staff on Monday, he would “collaborate with our streaming partners and long-form divisions to produce short- and long-form special projects” in his new job overseeing news content creation.

“With his impressive reporting roots coupled with his editorial instincts, storytelling sensitives, and drive to get out and get the story, I look forward to him continuing his streak of firsts in expanding ‘World News Tonight’ to new heights and delivering more powerful, in-depth journalism from the network to the world of streaming,” Godwin added.
