Apple Reportedly Plans to Introduce New Low-Cost 5G iPhone in March

Apple could launch a new low-cost 5G iPhone and an updated iPad some time around March 8, according to a report citing people close to the matter.

The tech giant will reveal its first update to the iPhone SE model in two years, Bloomberg News reported on Friday.

The iPhone SE model currently retails for $399. The updated model could have its same design, but with added 5G network capabilities, an improved camera and a faster processor, according to Bloomberg.

Apple’s last major product reveal was in October when it announced two new MacBook Pro models that run on more powerful in-house chips. The event is expected to be a virtual livestream, the sources said.

The sources added that the company is planning to release iOS 15.4, also in March. The update will include Face ID support for people wearing masks to iPhones and iPads, which will make it easier for users to unlock their devices.
