Sharon Scott to Lead A+E Networks Unscripted Division

Sharon Scott has been named president of A+E Networks’ unscripted division.

Scott will oversee the company’s nonfiction content division, which comprises Category 6 Media and Six West Media. Six West Media executive vp Steve Ascher has been promoted to head of development for the whole company, reporting to Scott.

Scott joined A+E Networks in 2020 as executive vice president of Category 6 Media. She began her career at NBCUniversal, where she founded and served as president and general manager of NBC News’ Peacock Productions for 11 years. Scott formerly worked as the executive producer and general manager of NBC News Productions and NBC Media Productions. She has received several News and Documentary Emmys, as well as duPont, Peabody, and Edward R. Murrow prizes.

Since its inception in 2017, the A+E unscripted branch has produced an upgraded edition of A&E’s Cold Case Files, Lifetime’s special Women Making History, the forthcoming History series The American Presidency, and ID’s Doomsday: The Missing Children.
