Cheslie Kryst, ‘Extra’ Correspondent and Former Miss USA, Dies at 30

Cheslie Kryst, a former Miss USA and Extra journalist, has died aged thirty years old.

At 7:05 a.m., Kryst’s corpse was discovered. Sunday, on the pavement outside the Orion Condominium building in Manhattan, where she lived. The New York Police Department verified that she died by suicide.

Kryst’s  family has requested privacy during this difficult time as they mourn their loss. Kryst won the Miss USA beauty pageant in 2019 as a North Carolina contestant.

Kryst has had numerous more TV appearances in recent years, including as a panelist on Black Girl Beauty and as a guest on The Kelly Clarkson Show and Live With Kelly and Ryan.

Kryst also starred in Ava DuVernay’s Miss USA and Colin Kaepernick’s Colin in Black and White.

Kryst has also modeled for Express and worked as an ambassador for the firm. She was also a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America’s National Board of Directors. Kryst was an attorney with a law degree and an MBA from Wake Forest University.
