Houthi Strike Kills Five People In Marib City: Officials

At least five people were killed and 23 others received injuries after the Houthi rebels launched a ballistic missile on the northern city of Marib, the last stronghold of the Yemeni government.

“Two soldiers and three civilians lost their lives in the strike, a medic said.

The Iranian-backed Houthi rebels confirmed they have carried out the strike as its fighters continue fighting to capture Marib city.

The Houthis intensified attacks just days after the Yemeni government forces with support from Saudi-Arabia and the United Arab Emirates said they had pushed the Houthi fighters back from Harib district in the south of Marib.

Saudi and UAE have been actively fighting the Houthis in support of the Yemeni government.

The Houthis had recently launched missile attacks toward the UAE, in which three people were killed and six others were wounded.

Since the attack, the Saudi-led coalition carried out airstrikes in different parts of Yemen, including Sanaa that killed and wounded hundreds of people.

The Doctors Without Borders (MSF) had earlier said that at least 70 people died and over 100 others wounded in last week’s coalition airstrike in Sanaa.
