Iran Reports 9,378 New COVID-19 Cases, 23 Deaths in Past 24 Hours

Iran’s Health Ministry said on Tuesday that they have reported another 9,378 new cases of COVID-19 and 23 related deaths in the past 24 hours, taking the total tally of officially confirmed cases to 6,267,559 nationwide.

The ministry also confirmed the death of 23 COVID-19 patients during the same period of time, taking the tally to 132,274 since the outbreak of the virus started in the country two years ago.

Meanwhile, the minister lamented that out of 9,378 positive patients, 632 of them were hospitalized with some of them in critical health conditions.

In total some 1,241 COVID-19 patients are in critical conditions and are in intensive care units, it added.

The ministry also said that 6,085,073 patients have been recovered and been discharged from hospitals so far.

In regards to the COVID-19 vaccination process, the ministry said that 60,544,155 Iranians have received the first dose, while 53,733,768 others so far received the second dose.

Another 15,254,504 people have also received the third shot, the ministry added.
