Season two of Perry Mason has seen the addition of recurring characters Sean Astin, Tommy Dewey, Paul Raci, and Jen Tullock. Shea Whigham, who was a cast regular in the first season.
The four new actors have joined returning cast members Matthew Rhys, Juliet Rylance, Chris Chalk Diarra Kilpatrick, Eric Lange, and Justin Kirk; new series regular Katherine Waterston; and recurring actors Hope Davis, Jon Chaffin, Fabrizio Guido, Peter Mendoza, Onahoua Rodriguez, Jee Young Han, and Mark O’Brien.
Perry Mason’s second season takes place a few months after the Dodson trial, which concluded season one, and during the worst year of the Great Depression.
Perry and Della (Rylance) have shifted their focus to handling largely civil matters rather than the more chaotic criminal business, which means there isn’t much work for investigator Paul Drake (Chalk), who has gone it alone. When an apparently straightforward case sweeps through Los Angeles, Perry’s quest for justice discovers that not everything is as it appears.
