Saudi Says Houthi Rebels Sacrificed Yemenis to Serve Iran’s Agenda

Saudi Arabia’s top defense officialclaimed that the Houthi rebel group has sacrificed the lives of innocent Yemeni people only to serve the best interest of Iran.

Saudi Deputy Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman expressed the Kingdom’s enthusiasm alongside the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in bringing Yemen into the organization.

“The inclusion of Yemen to the GCC will help its people to enjoy security, stability, and development like all other people of the Gulf,” Salman said in a series of tweets.

Salman said that Iran-backed Houthi militias in Yemen have chosen terrorism and destruction. “The Houthis have sacrificed the Yemeni people to serve Iran’s agenda,” Salman lamented.

“We would like to assure the people of Yemen that they are a part of us and we are part of them and that we will always stand by them,” Salman added.

Salman furthered that the Houthi rebels have given false promises to deceive the Yemeni people and recruit them in the war.

Salman called on the Yemenis to not mislead by those empty and false promises and free their country from the scourge of Houthi terrorists.

Moreover, the Saudi-led coalition on Wednesday carried out airstrikes targeting Sanaa International Airport in the capital of Yemen in retaliation to the Houthi rebel’s attacks in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Saudi Arabia has intensified attacks on Yemen after the Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for launching deadly drone attacks in the UAE that killed three people, while six more were wounded.
