Iran’s health ministry said it has recorded 4,658 new cases of COVID-19 and 20 related deaths in the past 24 hours, where 345 patients were in severe condition.
Already there are 1,240 COVID-19 patients in the intensive care units of hospitals, the ministry said in a statement.
There were 20 patients that have lost their lives to the virus within the past 24 hours which puts the total toll to 132,152 people since the outbreak of the virus started in the country two years ago.
The ministry also said more than 6,073,400 patients have been recovered and discharged from hospitals out of a total of 6,236,500 sick individuals so far.
the ministry added that over 60.43 million Iranians have also received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while another 53.42 million received the second dosage.
