Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan Ready to Work Toward a Stable Afghanistan

The two neighbors of Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan expressed desire to play their due role to help the country in different areas, Turkmenistan Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

Deputy Forieng Minister of Turkmenistan, Berdyniyaz Myatiev met with his Uzbek counterpart Vladimir Norov in Tashkent, where they vowed to continue providing comprehensive economic and humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, the statement added.

“We are firm in our commitment to assist Afghanistan to achieve peace, harmony, and stability as soon as possible,” the statement quoted them as saying.

The two officials also discussed mutual issues between their countries, where they emphasized their commitment to come up with effective multilateral mechanisms to maintain regional and global stability, economic growth, and security.

The two sides also shed lights in strengthening cooperation in the trade and economic spheres, according to the statement, adding they agreed for collaborative work on areas of trade, economic, scientific, technical, and cultural cooperation.
