Syrian Leader Hails Qatar’s Efforts to Solve Crisis

Top Syrian officials on Tuesday praised Qatar’s role in ending the long-year crisis in Syria, while expressing gratitude to the country’s firm support to the war-hit country.

Speaking in a press conference in Doha, capital city of Qatar, President of National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, Salem al-Meslet thanked Qatar for its firm and continuing support to Syrians while taking up efforts to solve the existing crisis.

Al-Meslet furthered that Qatar’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani assured him of further humanitarian aid for Syrian people.

“We had fruitful discussions with Qatari officials and our meetings were distinctive and positive. We will continue to consulate in the future as well,” Al-Meslet added.

According to Al-Meslet, the core intention of the meetings was to find a way to put an end to the long years of the Syrian people suffering. “We need to find a rapid solution to our problem,” he added.

Pointing toward the trilateral Qatar-Russia-Turkey coalition that was established in Doha last year, Al-Meslet said that some progress was made on how to solve the Syrian crisis.

Al-Meslet said that the Syrian people suffered in all aspects of life, including education, health, food and other necessary matters and basic needs,” he added.
