Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the related issues surrounding Kazakhstan’s unrest and Ukrainian crisis with his Azerbaijan counter Ilham Aliyev over the phone on Tuesday.
The two sides exchanged in detail the problems of the Ukrainian settlement at the initiative of Aliyev who has recently visited the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, the Kremlin Press Service said in a statement.
“Putin spoke about his contacts with the US and its allies on the provision of guarantees that ensure Russia’s security,” the statement added.
In regards to Kazakhstan civil unrest, Putin and Aliyev expressed satisfaction on the role of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) peacekeeping forces for quickly normalizing the situation in Kazakhstan.
The two leaders also expressed readiness to further strengthen Russian-Azerbaijani strategic partnership, the statement added.
