Maitreyi Ramakrishnan to Receive Canadian Screen Awards Special Honor

Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, star of Never Have I Ever, will receive a unique Canadian Screen Awards accolade in recognition of her effect on worldwide TV audiences.

Ramakrishnan appears in the Netflix comedy Never Have I Ever, which was co-created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher and is based on the former’s youth. 

Ramakrishnan is set to voice Priya in Pixar’s Turning Red and is now filming the third season of Never Have I Ever.

The CSA, which honors the finest in Canadian cinema, television, and digital culture, will also bestow a lifetime achievement award on legendary Hockey Night in Canada commentator Bob Cole. 

Cole began his broadcasting career in 1954 and rose through the ranks to become the voice of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens on Hockey Night in Canada.

Vince Commisso, president and CEO of 9 Story Media, and John Galway, former president of The Harold Greenberg Fund and veteran film festival producer, will receive the Tribute Award.

The inaugural beneficiaries of the Changemaker Award will be Kayla Grey, Kathleen Newman-Bremang, and Amanda Parris.

The CSAs will be held on April 10th by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television.
