Daniel Radcliffe to Play “Weird Al” Yankovic in Biopic

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe will star as the five-time Grammy winner in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.

The description for the film says it “holds nothing back, exploring every facet of Yankovic’s life, from his meteoric rise to fame with early hits like ‘Eat It’ and ‘Like a Surgeon’ to his torrid celebrity love affairs and famously depraved lifestyle. Weird: The Al Yankovic Story takes audiences on a truly unbelievable journey through Yankovic’s life and career, from gifted child prodigy to the greatest musical legend of all time.”

Yankovic and Eric Appel wrote the screenplay, while Appel directed and executive produced the film. The film is being produced by Funny Or Die and Tango and will begin production in Los Angeles in early February.

Weird: The Al Yankovic Story will only be available on The Roku Channel.

Radcliffe, who is represented by ARG and Felker Toczek in the United Kingdom, will next be seen in the Paramount comedy The Lost City, alongside Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum.
