Taliban FM Muttaqi Heads To Turkmenistan For Bilateral Talks

Taliban Foreign Minister, Ameer Khan Muttaqi on Friday departed to Turkmenistan for talks on trade, energy, and Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India TAPI gas pipeline, his office said in a statement.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Abdul Qahar Balkhi said Muttaqi left for Ashgabat on the invitation of Turkmenistan to hold talks with Turkmen officials on bilateral areas.

“Muttaqi will discuss a number of mutual issues with Turkmen officials, including trade, energy, crude oil, railway, the TAPI project and scholarship for the Afghan students,” Balkhi added.

Moriever, Waliullah Shaheen, the director of strategic studies at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that they will soon sign the remaining seven agreements on the TAPI with TAPI project partners.

Shaheen said that Turkmenistan will pay Afghanistan’s share for the TAPI project on loan.
