Israeli Army said its two Defense Forces pilots were killed and another crew member received injuries on Monday night when their military helicopter crashed over the Mediterranean.
“The helicopter went down in the Mediterranean off the coast of the northern city of Haifa during a training flight,” the army said in a statement.
The two killed pilots were identified as Lt. Col. Erez Sachyani, who served as the deputy commander of the Ramat David Air Base, and Maj. Chen Fogel, who served as a pilot and deputy commander in the 193rd Squadron.
Israeli Air Force Chief, Amikam Norkin said a team has been appointed to investigate the crash and also halted all air forces training flights.
