ISIS Missile Attack Leaves Five Syrian Soldiers Dead

At least five Syrian army personnel were killed and 20 more received injuries in a missile attack in the eastern parts of the country.

“A military bus was subjected to a terrorist missile attack in the Syrian al-Badia region by Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist organization,” Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) quoted a military source as saying.

The source said five soldiers were killed during the rocket assault on the Deir ez-Zor-Palmyra road and that there was also artillery shelling.

ISIS has conducted frequent attacks targeting military vehicles in the Palmyra road, the SANA added.

In February 2021, 26 soldiers were also killed in an attack on their vehicle in Palmyra road, while in December 2020, nearly 40 Syrian troops were killed again in an ISIS ambush of a bus in the same road.
