Uzbekistan, South Korea Ink Several Bilateral Cooperation Agreement

Uzbekistan and South Korea signed several cooperation agreements on Friday to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

The agreements were signed in presence of Uzbekistan President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Korean’s Moon Jae-in in Seoul, according to a joint statement.

Koran President Moon told his Uzbek counterpart that Korea and Uzbekistan “are special strategic partners”, the statement added.

Moon talked about different projects which are ongoing in spheres such as production of agricultural equipment, energy sector, construction of industrial enterprises, the statement added.

“We are ready to join hands with Uzbekistan in addressing global climate change, creation of smart cities, smart farms, production of electric cars,” Moon furthered.

In his part, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev outlined three main areas of agenda – green development, digitalization and strengthening of the social protection system, according to the statement.

The two sides also hoped to create a new page of prosperity in the coming year in the eve of celebrating 30 years since establishment of diplomatic ties, the statement added.

Moreover, memorandums of cooperation in information technologies, smart farming, and medical equipment were also signed, it added.
